Frequently Asked Questions

What is the tax on salary in Pakistan for 2025-26?

For the 2025-26 fiscal year, there is 0% tax on annual salary income up to Rs. 600,000 (Rs. 50,000 per month). Once your income exceeds this threshold, a progressive tax rate applies, starting at 5% for the lowest taxable bracket and capping at 35% for individuals earning over Rs. 4,100,000 annually.

What is the difference between filer and non-filer status?

A filer is an active taxpayer who has submitted their annual return. While basic salary tax slabs do not change based on your Active Taxpayer List (ATL) status, non-filers face much higher withholding taxes on banking, property, and vehicle transactions.

Which FBR tax slabs are used in this calculator?

This calculator uses the official 2025-26 Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) tax slabs, as passed in the recent Finance Act, for both Salaried and Non-Salaried/Business individuals.
